At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, Yashasvi Jaiswal missed his century by 25 runs by getting out on 175 runs and could only add 2 more runs to his first day score.
Jaiswal seemed on course for a third Test double century on Day 2 of the second Test against the West Indies. However, his innings came to an end due to a mix-up with captain Shubman Gill.
The incident took place in the second over of the morning when Jaiswal, batting on 175, drove Jayden Seales wide of mid-off and set off for a quick single. Gill, momentarily ball-watching, responded late and hesitated. By the time he reacted, Jaiswal was already halfway down the pitch.
Jaiswal attempted to return to his crease, but the throw came in quickly to the keeper’s end. Tevin Imlach collected the ball and broke the stumps, catching Jaiswal short of his ground.
