The 70th edition of the Filmfare Awards took place on Saturday at EKA Arena near Kankaria Lake in Ahmedabad, hosted by Shah Rukh Khan along with Karan Johar and Maniesh Paul

The evening celebrated the best of Hindi cinema, with Laapataa Ladies dominating the awards, winning Best Film, Best Director, and several honours in acting, music, and technical categories. Abhishek Bachchan (I Want To Talk) and Kartik Aaryan (Chandu Champion) shared the Best Actor (Male) award, while Alia Bhatt won Best Actor (Female) for Jigra

Rajkummar Rao and Pratibha Rannta received the Critics’ Awards for Best Actor for Srikanth and Laapataa Ladies respectively. 

The event also honoured new talent and industry veterans, including Lifetime Achievement Awards for Zeenat Aman and the late Shyam Benegal.
